Alumni Success Story: Emin Huseynov becomes Deputy Finance Minister of Azerbaijan

ADA University Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Strategy, also U.S. Government sponsored FLEX and Edmund S.Muskie alumnus Dr. Emin Huseynov is a newly appointed Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The appointment has been signed into a decree by President Ilham Aliyev on June 24, 2016, reports the Public Relations Office of the Finance Ministry. Dr. Huseynov joins the Ministry after three year tenure at ADA University as VR for Strategy and Development, and later Academic Affairs.
He is a professional economist having been involved in economic policymaking in Azerbaijan for over 15 years, who started his career in international consultancy with the United Nations, the World Bank, and the IMF. He then joined the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) to head the newly established Research Department, finishing his CBA appointment as an Executive Director of the CBA.
Dr. Huseynov holds a PhD in Econometrics from Baku State University, two Master degrees, one in Economics from Florida State University (Muskie, 1998) and another one in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School (HKS, 2009). Dr. Huseynov has been named as one of the “New Leaders for Tomorrow” by Crans Montana Forum in 2012.
